However if you do use another data source make sure to document and report it in your paper clearly. 1) Using a list of about 100 countries (try to get at least 30 from each of the income category defined by the world bank) calculate HDI index for your sample. 2) The current Human Development Report from the UN is available from http://hdr.undp.org/en Download the HDI from here and report the correlation between the measure you calculated and the one calculated by the UN.
