The concept of leadership often varies among individuals following the different styles practices. In this regard, some perceive leaders as the people who lead nations and fail to see those in military, business, or religious places. Most people tend to have a specific outlook towards leadership based on certain characteristics despite having quality leadership across all our facets. It would be impossible to have functional institutions or society in general without having effective leaders. According to Daft (2017), leadership is a complex and least-understood phenomenon, made up of different elements such as influence, change, intention, integrity and personal responsibility, followers, shared purpose, and intention.


While there are many definitions surrounding leadership, I believe it is an influence relationship among leaders and followers who intend to bring fundamental changes and outcomes that reflect their shared purposes (Daft, 2017). I also cannot entirely agree with those who think leadership is a high-profile role as most leaders are ordinary people who may have positions at religious places, schools, communities, social clubs, and volunteer organizations. These leaders may not always show dominance or power but take the initiative to bring change that will benefit others. In our families, parents tend to be the leaders as they influence, inspire, and guide children on the most beneficial path, which helps them grow as individuals without portraying dominance.
